Santa Claus

We took Clay to see Santa Claus today for his first time. He did really well, but was suspicious of the man in red. Clay was sitting on Santa's lap and he turned around and gave Santa this look like "You've got to be kidding. Who the hell is this guy? He's not the REAL Santa Claus". Needless to say we got a good "Santa Picture".

Our Christmas Tree Hunt

We waited until today, December 20th, to get our Christmas Tree and was actually snowing. How often does that happen! We got our tree at Snow Angel Tree Farm, which happens to be located right around the corner from Carrie's parents' house. So we loaded Clay into the stroller and walked down the street! We had a choice of lots of beautiful trees, Grand Firs and Noble Firs. All of the trees were covered in snow, so we had to shake them to get a good look at them. We picked a nice looking tree, Rob cut it down, and Rob and Grandpa Matt drug it home! I have included some photos of our snow adventure! Now all that is left to do is decorate it!

Halloween 2008

Asleep after a hard night of trick-or-treating.

Well I thought that I would do a little bit of a recap of some important events in the last few months so that everyone can catch up with the Butcher Family! For Halloween (Clay's first) we went to Battle Ground to go Trick-Or-Treating. Trick-Or-Treating is done at the stores along Main Street, the stores pass out candy to the kids, and some of the local groups like ROTC and Rotary Club play the role of crossing guards for the streets. We Trick-Or-Treated for about an hour. Clay had a great time watching all the people in costumes! Clay was a bat for Halloween and a pretty cute one if I may say so myself. He was quite tired after Trick-Or-Treating and feel asleep in the car. I have included a few photos of Clay in his costume as well as some pictures taken during pumpkin carving.

World's cutest bat boy!

Staying in Touch

A lot has happened in our in the last year and I realize that we haven't done a very good job on keeping everyone updated. We have been blessed with so many family and friends, spread across the entire country, that it is hard to keep in touch and current with everyone. That said, I have decided that it is time to keep our family and friends updated on our lives in a more fashionable manner. As one of my resolutions for 2009 I have decided to start a blog for our family (that is the easy part) and keep it current, hopefully with weekly updates. So I hope that you all enjoy this small insight into out lives and enjoy the many Butcher Adventures.
